About The Artist
stuti laha
Stuti Laha, an artist from Kolkata, West Bengal, graduated from The Government College of Art and Craft in 1993, specializing in the Indian Style of painting. While studying various indigenous forms of painting like Miniature, Fresco, and Rajasthani styles, she became enamored with the Bengal Style of ‘Wash painting.’
In this style, she uses fine cotton cloth instead of silk, adhered to a wooden surface, and applies transparent watercolors in layers, washing them with semi-transparent colors to bring out a unique glow. Her inspiration comes from the serene beauty of her ancestral property in Chandanagar, Nadia, where she paints natural landscapes and the daily life of tribal women.
Her art captures fleeting yet extraordinary moments often overlooked, and she envisions tribal women as embodiments of feminine power, specifically depicting Durga playing with her son, Ganesh. Despite the challenges of wash-painting, Stuti finds bliss in its beauty and the lasting presence it evokes, akin to Indian Ragas

About The Artist
Dilip Paul
My work is close to the aesthetics and the very essence of nature. Through my perception it explores the inner spirit of nature the ecstasy and torment of creation. It stands for the symbolic and symbiotic relationship that man shares with the sacred natural worlds.
My sculptures dominate the space, the lyrical interplay between organic elements that effectively comes along with the nexus of my sculpting tools and imagination. My intention is to convey the transient nature of our lived experience, the metaphorical significance of the different kinds of ‘inversionforms’. So it lefts little to the viewer’s imagination that will delight and provoke us in different ways.

I am madly in love with art since childhood. My passion led me to the graduate BVA with Honours from Govt.
College of Art & Craft, Kolkata. I accomplished in painting women, children, the elderly and the daily life forms with mastery and sensitivity – portraying their hopes and dreams. I always try to present another force of nature, the noblest of animals – the horse. Generally my paintings symbolise the strength and beauty of horses while preserving the delicacy of colour and line.

Sprawling with colours, I paint the unexplained beauty of the entity. My subconscious feelings and their façade find an impression on the works surface. Linear constructions I am build up metaphors with displaying a sense of grotesque fantasy revealing an environment of dismayed insecurity. I am also brings out an enigmatic light in the guise of void exposing the surface of his support out of linear constellation. Surrounding my main figure various floating forms get scattered suggesting an infinite expanse of existential connotations. My cute humors are transformed into an uncanny sense of anxiety. My forms are significant due to my search for indigenous identity.
I paint my expressions and explore the unknown mystery of the world and its components; often diving into the depths through my free flowing strokes. Resent worldwide Covid19 pandemic situation and unfortunate changing our living life that have reflects my recent paintings. I try to express something like; the human and nature both are very surprised about this unknown isolated behavior. Which we don’t know who are the beneficial for thus change.
Restraining the external hindrances, I think my paintings offer the amalgamation of the beauty of nature, its characters, the language, the materialism and above all the nascent imagination.
I had completed both his Bachelor and Masters in Applied Art and Graphic Design from Govt. College of Art and Craft, under Calcutta University, Kolkata, in 2001 and 2004 respectively.
